2025 Rhode Island Festival

The Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival is a cherished annual tradition in Pawtucket. Families and businesses form teams to race dragon boats on the Pawtucket River, while under large tents, the festival features cultural performances, arts & crafts demonstrations, and the always-popular dumpling-eating contest to celebrate Taiwan Day. In 2024, GGF members were honored to volunteer at the 23rd Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival. Inspired by that experience, they plan to return for the 24th edition in 2025—this time with a GGF booth to raise awareness and fundraise, hoping to share their mission with more people and gather greater support for future donations.

2025 Tibet Program

In Cuomei County, Shannan City, Tibet, many Tibetan students face serious challenges in accessing quality education due to a lack of resources in this remote mountainous region. In 2024, two GGF representatives took part in an educational support mission there and achieved meaningful results. Building on that experience, they’ve decided to return in 2025—this time inviting more GGF members to join the cause. For the 2025 initiative, GGF is co-organizing the “Books Across Mountains – Educational Support in Tibet” project with Nanrenbang Off-Road Racing Club and the Shenzhen Volunteer Association. The goal is to provide more equitable educational opportunities, improve learning conditions, and deliver essential school supplies to local students. This year, five members from our nonprofit will travel to Cuomei County for the mission. With the experience we’ve gained, we’re better prepared than ever. To further support the effort, GGF is launching a fundraising campaign—both online and offline—to collect donations for school and daily essentials. Supporters can help by donating directly or through our charity sale platform. We hope this campaign helps shine a light on the needs of children in Tibet and inspires more people to join us in making a difference, however big or small.

Support for Collar City Karma Basketball (2025)

In March 2025, GGF found out that a local youth basketball team, Collar City Karma 11U, was raising funds to offer better training opportunities for their players. Moved by their mission and the passion of the kids, GGF decided to contribute with a $200 donation—hoping to do its part in supporting young athletes and opening more doors for their future.

2024 Tibet “Books Across Borders” Program

In the summer of 2024, through the “Books Across Borders” education support program, GGF learned about the challenges facing students in the mountainous regions of Tibet, where high altitude and difficult roads limit access to educational resources. To help improve this situation, two GGF members joined volunteers from the Shenzhen Desert Rose Arts Association on a weeklong trip to Cuomei County, located in the Shannan area of Tibet. Together, they supported three schools—Zhegu Primary School, Gudui Township Primary School, and Zhazha Primary & Kindergarten—by donating backpacks, bookshelves, desks, books, and more. GGF also funded the creation of a new library at Gudui Township Primary School. This project gave many students better tools for learning and helped us understand more about their daily struggles. Inspired by this trip, GGF is now co-organizing the 2025 Tibet Education Aid Mission with Nanrenbang Off-Road Club and the Shenzhen Volunteer Federation. This upcoming program will expand our efforts and bring even more resources to students in remote Tibetan communities. Stay tuned for updates and ways to support our 2025 mission!

2024海南

In the summer of 2024, GGF sponsored and provided financial support for three non-profit members and several other students from the same school to participate as student representatives in a three-week cultural exchange program in Wuzhishan, Hainan. During the program, they shared their experiences and taught at local primary and secondary schools while also learning about and appreciating the local culture in Hainan. The event was highly successful, allowing American and Chinese students to exchange ideas and gain a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures. After returning to school, the student representatives prepared and delivered speeches to share their experiences, encouraging others to participate in similar cultural exchange activities and explore different regional cultures. The success of this event also helped promote the upcoming 2025 American Return Visit Program for Hainan Students, jointly organized by GGF, as well as the 2025 Summer Table Tennis Provincial Team Training in Hainan. These initiatives aim to help more students create and embrace valuable opportunities for growth and connection.

2025 Hainan Program

In 2025, the Global Glow Foundation sponsored a group of U.S. high school exchange students to travel to Hainan for a two-week table tennis training program. The camp featured professional coaching sessions led by provincial-level coaches and athletes, a friendly exchange match with Wuzhishan Nongken Experimental Middle School, and visits to local schools as part of a cultural and athletic exchange. During the program, the team also represented GGF in awarding educational scholarships to students at Shuiman Central Primary School. Co-hosted by GGF and partners in Hainan, the initiative aimed to foster cross-cultural understanding, provide students with opportunities for personal growth, and promote the value of a well-rounded education.
